Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays

The Rich Get Richer are getting into the holiday spirit this year by giving away some free music. Last July we recorded three hours of completely improvised music in a recording studio on the banks of the scenic Gowanus Canal. A couple months later we listened back to the whole session and condensed it down to ten tracks which now make up an album called "Find." These tracks have been uploaded to our myspace page for your listening pleasure, but for those of you who want to be able to listen to the music on the go, we have enabled the album for download via Soundcloud.

For those of you who missed out on the EP we were giving away at shows last year, we've got you covered.

Red Hook Bait & Tackle Friday Night

Come check us out at Red Hook Bait & Tackle on Friday night, it's one of our last gigs, and sure to be a scorcher. We go on around 9:30pm and can play as late as we want, so we're gonna kick out some crazy improv jams and play whatever the fuck we want. Come by and have a drink with us, it's summer time, and nothing says summer like getting drunk down by the water in Red Hook.

If you don't know how to get to Bait and Tackle, here's some directions:

Take the F or the G train to Smith & 9th St.
Walk on 9th St. towards the BQE (away from the Gowanus Canal) till you hit Columbia St.
Take a right on Columbia St. and then a quick left on Verona St.
Take a left at Van Brunt St. and your 2 blocks away

Upcoming Shows

We've got some exciting shows coming up over the course of the next few weeks. This Monday (May 17th) we'll be playing Pianos over in the lower east side, then on Friday (June 11th) we head over to Red Hook where we will be playing Red Hook Bait and Tackle. We plan on playing lots of new material, some old favorites, and unveiling a garage rock version of a Mountain Goats song. Hope to see you all there!!!

The Dark Comedy Hour

We just recorded some new songs with Andras Pokorny at his make shift bedroom studio in Williamsburg. Andras has a website called The Dark Comedy Hour (http://darkcomedyhour.com/) where he offers podcasts of music recorded in his studio, as well as a literary journal with poems, original stories, and analysis of current events. We were fortunate enough to run into Andras at our gig this past February at Bruar Falls, and he was kind enough to invite us over to record. The two songs we recorded should be up on his site pretty soon, where they will be available for download and streaming. Here's some pictures from our recording session.
